FAQs for finding information whilst learning from home

I need a book for my studies, what should I do?

We may be able to help you access a digital version, either by sourcing it online or purchasing an ebook for the CSC library.  Contact your Librarian for assistance.

I am trying to use one of the school's electronic resources but it's not working, can you help?

It may be that the resource link is set to work only on campus.  Contact your Librarian so that they can help you gain access.

I need help using a library or EdTech tool (Zotero, OSLIS citation generator, Turnitin etc), can you assist?

Of course we can, either by linking you to instructional sources or organizing one-to-one online training. Just contact your Librarian.

I'm desperate for some leisure reading, help!

Lockdown is tough on bibliophiles.  If you are living outside China you can use the PressReader app (register using your UWC CSC email address) to gain access to an impressive collection of newspapers and magazines.  The Sora app (logon by searching for your school) provides a huge range of ebooks and audio books.

Have you joined your local library? Many of these have extensive ebook and audiobook collections. In areas of lockdown it should be possible to join your library remotely.

If you enjoy classics, try Project Gutenberg, and ManyBooks has a good selection too.  Penguin provide a small collection of free books, and Loyal Books has a catalogue of public domain books in a range of world languages including Chinese.
